Financial analyst Islam Memiş stated that the sharp decline in gold prices is due to the strengthening of the dollar and margin call sales in ETF transactions. Memiş expressed that despite short-term pullbacks, gold could enter a rising trend again in the long term.

In the early days of the week, both spot and gram gold experienced a rapid rise, but then fell again with the subsequent wave of sales. The decline in spot gold in international markets was reflected in the physical market in Turkey, and gram gold lost value.

WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE DECLINE?

Financial Analyst İslam Memiş stated that the sudden drop in gold prices is due to multiple factors. According to Memiş, the obligation for some investors to complete collateral in ETF transactions led to selling pressure in the market as they turned to selling gold and silver. Additionally, the strengthening of the dollar in global markets also pulled down gold prices. It was noted that the rise in the dollar index negatively affected precious metals like gold and silver. Furthermore, the increase in the gold-silver ratio was also mentioned as a factor that accelerated the price decline.

"THIS MAY BE A RETREAT OPPORTUNITY"

İslam Memiş said that despite the decline in the short term, gold prices could enter a rising trend again in the long term. He indicated that a strong wave of increase in the gold market could be seen if geopolitical tensions come to an end, and he expressed that the current pullbacks could be seen as an opportunity for investors looking to buy physical gold.

WARNING FOR THOSE PREPARING FOR WEDDINGS

Experts emphasize that those preparing for weddings, those with gold debts, or those considering long-term investments should closely monitor the current price levels. Although the fluctuations in the markets create uncertainty in the short term, it is assessed that gold can maintain its value in the long term.
