A young woman traveling by plane from Antalya to Izmir experienced the shock of her life when she saw her pets in the cargo section of the plane. The woman, whose name was announced, noticed that the special cage containing her pets was broken, one of the dogs had escaped from the cage, and the broken part of the cage had been patched up with a piece of wood. Two days ago, a young woman traveling on Sunexpres airline's Antalya-Izmir flight was shocked by the scene she encountered upon arriving in Izmir. The young woman, who was traveling with her two Shih Tzu pets, handed over her dogs along with their cages to the airline officials at Antalya Airport. After a flight of approximately 45 minutes, while waiting for her pets after disembarking from the plane in Izmir, she heard her name being announced.
ONE OF THE DOGS ESCAPED, THE TOP OF THE OTHER'S CAGE WAS BROKEN
Upon hearing the announcement, the young woman went to the officials and experienced the shock of her life. The officials told the young woman that one of her pets had escaped because the door of its cage was broken. Seeing that the top of the other cage was broken and covered with a thick piece of wood, the young woman expressed her outrage by sharing the footage she took on her social media account. Stating that she had taken the largest cage for her pets to be comfortable, the young woman reacted by saying, "I brought two animals, one arrived broken. The other escaped from the cage."
"A CAGE CANNOT BREAK WITHOUT SOMETHING BEING THROWN ON IT"
The young woman pointed out in the footage that it is impossible for the cages of animals weighing less than 8 kilograms to break, saying, "I was surprised when I heard the announcement that you need to come urgently. I took the largest cage for them to be comfortable. These are animals that do not exceed 8 kilograms, and they are losing one. They claim they opened the cage. They also threw something on the other one; that animal's height does not reach there, it’s such a big cage. They cannot break that cage without something being thrown on it. Either they threw the dogs around carelessly, they didn’t tie them at all. The other one came back with its ropes torn and lost. They said it was released; I took it from the luggage myself. They said we can’t take it, it bites," expressing her frustration towards the airline.
STATEMENT FROM THE AIRLINE
After the footage spread on social media accounts, Sunexpres airline made a statement regarding the issue. In the statement made by the airline, it was said, "It is still unclear whether the cage was damaged during the loading by the ground services personnel in Antalya, during the unloading in Izmir, or during the flight. Although no negative report has been received regarding the health status of our little friend, we know that such incidents are upsetting for passengers, and we extend our best wishes to both our passenger and our cute friend."
