REUTERS: OPTIONS ARE ACTIVELY DISCUSSED AT THE WHITE HOUSE
According to a report by Reuters, White House officials stated that Trump sees Greenland as a strategic U.S. hub against the growing influence of Russia and China in the Arctic region. As this goal has resurfaced in recent days, the Greenland administration has repeatedly reiterated that it does not wish to be a part of the U.S.

In response to Reuters' questions, the White House expressed that Trump considers taking over Greenland necessary to "deter enemies in the Arctic." The statement included the following remarks:

NATO'S REACTION DID NOT DETER TRUMP

According to the official, the options being evaluated include the U.S. directly purchasing Greenland or signing a Compact of Free Association (COFA) with the region. However, it is stated that the COFA model falls short of Trump's goal of making the 57,000-population island a part of the U.S. No price has yet been announced for a potential purchase.
