After the ceremony at the Qatar National Mosque, Haniyeh's body will be buried in Lusail.

NOT THE FIRST: HAMAS LEADERS TARGETED

Haniyeh is not the first Hamas leader to be killed in an assassination. Yahya Ayyash, known as the 'Engineer', had his mobile phone explode in his hand. Former political leader Khaled Meshaal was poisoned by Mossad agents in Jordan. WHO WILL TAKE OVER HAMAS?

After Haniyeh's assassination, there are various claims about who will take over the organization. The first name that comes to mind is Yahya Sinwar, who is the leader of Hamas in Gaza. However, it seems quite difficult for Sinwar to leave Gaza without being targeted by Israel. Another name is Khaled Meshaal, who has previously led Hamas. Zahir Jabarin, who is responsible for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, is also a candidate for leadership.
