The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, announced that there will be no increase in electricity and natural gas prices in February.
Speaking to A Haber, Minister Bayraktar said, "Our inflation target for 2026 is below 20%. We are making our price adjustments in a way that will not surprise the inflation targets, in close coordination with our Central Bank and Treasury. Currently, we do not have a plan for a price increase for February."
"GRADUATED TARIFF WILL BE IMPLEMENTED THIS YEAR"
Bayraktar noted that the graduated model in electricity will also be adapted to natural gas, stating, "We aim to implement the graduated tariff in natural gas in 2026. Our technical preparations are ongoing. We may be able to remove groups that consume more than 50% above the average from support after this winter."
"OUR SUPPORT PACKAGES WILL ALWAYS BE OPEN"
However, he stated, "Our support packages conducted through the Ministry of Family and Social Services will always be open for our low-income citizens and those in need."
