The snowfall, which intensified late at night, continued without stopping. The precipitation, which soon became effective throughout the city, covered the streets and avenues, while vehicles were also covered with a thick layer of snow.

The snowfall in April surprised the citizens. Residents of the city expressed the situation by saying, "There is heavy snowfall. Winter has practically returned. Snow is falling in big flakes."
The snowfall negatively affected transportation, especially in high areas. While drivers experienced difficult moments on the Kars-Göle, Kars-Arpaçay-Çıldır, and Kars-Iğdır highways, traffic teams warned drivers to be careful.
