President Erdoğan, reacting to the summit held by Israel, Greece, and the Greek Cypriot Administration, stated, "Agreements can be made, but none of these bind us or change our policy. Those who have the blood of more than 70,000 of our Palestinian brothers on their hands are no different in our eyes than the sound of tin cans, and they cannot be." Erdoğan's remarks were met with a standing ovation from those in attendance.
Speaking at the Expanded Provincial Chairmen Meeting of his party, President Erdoğan reacted harshly to the summit held by Israel, Greece, and the Greek Cypriot Administration.
"IT IS NO DIFFERENT THAN THE CLANGING OF TIN, NOR CAN IT BE"
Erdoğan stated, "Agreements can be made, none of these bind us, nor do they change our policy." He added, "There were those who tried to determine our lifespan, those who called us the sick man. At the beginning of the century in Çanakkale, later in the national struggle, and most recently on July 15, there were those who aimed at our independence and future. We defeated all of them. Whether in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean, or elsewhere, we neither take rights nor allow our rights to be taken. We will not allow the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriots to be usurped. Those who have the blood of more than 70,000 of our Palestinian brothers on their hands are no different in our eyes than the clanging of tin, nor can they be," he expressed.
"WE DID NOT FALL FOR PROVOCATIONS, WE WILL NOT"
Continuing his remarks, Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey is progressing steadily on the path to becoming a global actor, stating, "We did not fall for the game, we will not, we did not succumb to provocations, and we will not. As Turkey, we will continue to act with prudence, common sense, and calm within the framework of international law and our bilateral agreements. We are working day and night for the love of serving the nation, expanding our efforts for all of Turkey. We are putting all our energy, all our efforts, our experiences, and our hearts into finding solutions to problems and being a remedy for troubles. Turkey is growing, strengthening, and advancing with solid steps in its role as a global actor," he said.
