In a period when oil and natural gas exploration activities are gaining momentum in Turkey, another surprising discovery is about to be made. An important exploration effort has been initiated in the Kalecik district of Ankara to identify coal reserves.

In the Kalecik district of Ankara, it is aimed to detect coal reserves through 6 drilling operations. The project will be carried out by Seyfettin Sarıtaş over an area of 1953.72 hectares and will be implemented with an investment of 8.5 million TL.

RESERVE SOURCE TO BE DETERMINED WITH 6 DRILLINGS

The coal exploration work will be conducted through drilling at six separate points. The work will be carried out over a total area of 300 m², with each drilling area being 50 m², to determine the reserve amount of the ore.

DRILLING OPERATIONS TO BE COMPLETED IN 6 MONTHS

The drilling operations are expected to be completed within 6 months. During this period, soil samples taken from the surface will be stored in a 10 m² section of each drilling area and sent to the laboratory for analysis.

DISTRIBUTION OF THE MINE TO BE DETERMINED WITH LABORATORY RESULTS

As a result of the analysis of the samples taken from the drillings, the distribution of the coal mine within the site will be determined. This data will provide more precise information about the size of the coal reserves in the region.
