Due to the extreme heat increasing its impact in the TRNC, working under the sun has been banned between 12:00 and 16:00 from July 22 to August 1. The decision, published in the Official Gazette and put into effect, is stated to aim at protecting the health and safety of workers, while temperatures are expected to reach up to 43 degrees Celsius in inland areas in the coming days.
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), working under the sun during midday hours has been banned from July 22 to August 1 due to extreme heat.

The TRNC Ministry of Labor and Social Security has banned working under the sun between 12:00-16:00 from July 22 to August 1 due to extreme heat conditions. The Ministry's decision was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
“PROTECTING THE HEALTH OF OUR WORKERS IS OUR PRIORITY”
TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu stated in a written statement on the subject, "Protecting the health of our workers during extreme heat is our priority."
Hasipoğlu noted that the decision was taken to minimize the risks that extreme heat conditions, which intensify in summer, may pose to the health and safety of workers, and emphasized that all employers operating in open areas must reorganize their work schedules considering the specified hours and implement all necessary measures to protect the health and safety of workers completely.
TEMPERATURES TO REACH 43 DEGREES
The TRNC Meteorological Department reported that they expect air temperatures to reach 41-43 degrees Celsius in the interior parts of the island in the coming days.
According to the weather forecasts of the TRNC Meteorological Department covering July 23-29, the highest temperature is expected to be 41–43 degrees in interior areas on the first and last days of the period, 36–38 degrees on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and 33–35 degrees along the coasts throughout the period.
In the weather forecasts, wind is expected to blow from the south and west, light to occasionally moderate; on Friday and Saturday, it is expected to be strong in places.
