Ertuğrul Doğan, President of the Clubs Union Foundation, announced that clubs have made a joint decision to implement FIFA's World Cup chip ball and goal-line technology in the Süper Lig. It was stated that efforts are ongoing to bring the two technologies into use.

The chip ball technology and goal-line technology used by FIFA in the European Championship and World Cup are coming to the Süper Lig. Ertuğrul Doğan, President of the Clubs Union Foundation, announced that clubs have reached a consensus on implementing both technologies in Turkey.

"WE MADE A JOINT DECISION"

Ertuğrul Doğan stated that meetings were previously held with relevant companies and costs were shared with the clubs, using the following statements:

"There was a joint decision by our clubs regarding the chip ball technology and goal-line technology used in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Meetings were held with companies. We shared the costs with our clubs. Our clubs also want this technology to be used."

HOW DOES THE CHIP BALL WORK?

In chip ball technology, high-precision sensors placed at the ball's center detect the ball's movement and the moment the footballer touches the ball within milliseconds.

This system, working integrated with the Semi-Automated Offside System (SAOS), sends the obtained data instantly to the VAR center to support referee decisions.
