Yasemin Minguzzi said, "The killers of my son are free, and I constantly receive death threats. My little nephews are being followed even to their schools. This police car has been in front of my door for about a year. Last night, the killers went live on TikTok. Please hear our voice. It has become unbearable."
On January 24, 2025, Yasemin Minguzzi, the mother of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was killed in Kadıköy, Istanbul, addressed President Erdoğan with a video she recorded in front of her house.
In the video she shared on social media, the grieving mother stated that her son's killers had gone live on TikTok, saying, "I constantly receive death threats. My little nephews are being followed to their schools." The mother expressed her fear, noting that a police vehicle had been parked in front of their house for about a year.
"PLEASE HEAR OUR VOICE"
The mother called on the authorities, stating that her son's killers were free. In her post, she expressed that she had not received a response to the events and directly addressed President Erdoğan.
"Please hear our voice. I beg you, give us an answer," said the mother, who sought help and resonated widely in the public.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On January 24, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi went to the Tuesday market in the Hasanpaşa neighborhood of Kadıköy to buy skateboarding equipment with his friends, where he was killed by 15-year-old B.B. and another 15-year-old, U.B.
The autopsy report obtained from the Forensic Medicine Institution indicated that Minguzzi had three stab wounds and a penetrating injury to his chest, with the cause of death being internal organ injury due to a stabbing attack. The indictment stated that U.B. kicked Minguzzi, while B.B. stabbed him multiple times with a knife taken from the counter.
