Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, a 20-year-old football player of Kars 36 Spor competing in the Regional Amateur League, was shot and killed in Istanbul, where he went for a holiday during the festival.

Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, a 20-year-old wearing the Kars 36 Sports jersey, lost his life as a result of a gun attack he suffered while in Istanbul for the holiday. A condolence message was also shared by his club.

In a statement shared on the official social media account of Kars 36 Sports Club regarding the incident, it was stated, "A tragic event that has saddened our Kars 36 sports community has occurred. Our football player Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı lost his life last night in Istanbul due to a gun attack. The death of our young footballer has caused great sorrow in our sports community, especially for his family. We pray for the deceased; we express our condolences to his grieving family, relatives, and our community."

Meanwhile, while Kundakçı's loved ones and teammates are in mourning over his death, the sad news was met with deep sorrow in the region as well.
