"I WAS ONLY 20 YEARS OLD..."
Speaking about the turning points in her career, Zehra Güneş stated that she gained her mental strength at an early age, saying "I developed my mentality and established it on a solid foundation. I realized this after an injury I suffered when I was only 20. I think I was 20 years old when we were eliminated by South Korea in the Tokyo Olympics. If I hadn't had this level of mental strength at that time, I would never have been able to play volleyball again after that day. I could have quit volleyball."
ANXIETY ATTACK ON THE COURT
Addressing the importance of mental health for athletes, the national star also shared a critical moment she experienced this season, saying, "I had an anxiety attack during a match we played this season. However, I managed to control myself incredibly. After the match ended, I was able to take a deep breath, and only then did I start shaking."
