Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that two Chinese citizens fighting against Ukraine in the Russian army have been captured in the Donetsk region. In his assessment of the incident, Zelensky stated, "This is a clear sign that Putin is willing to do everything except end the war."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on his social media account that 2 Chinese individuals fighting against Ukraine in the Russian army have been captured.
"IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS WERE FOUND ON THEM"
Stating that these individuals were captured by the Ukrainian army in the Donetsk region of their country, Zelensky said, "(The captives) had identification documents, bank cards, and personal data on them."
"I INSTRUCTED TO IMMEDIATELY CONTACT BEIJING"
Zelensky noted that they have information that "many more Chinese are serving in the Russian army," and added: "We are now learning all the facts. Intelligence, the Ukrainian Security Service, and the relevant units of the Armed Forces are continuing their work. I instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to immediately contact Beijing to find out how China will respond to this."
"PUTIN IS INTENT ON DOING EVERYTHING EXCEPT ENDING THE WAR"
Claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "looking for ways to prolong the war," Zelensky stated, "Russia's direct or indirect involvement of China and other countries in this war in Europe is a clear sign that Putin is intent on doing everything except ending the war." Zelensky called on the US, Europe, and everyone in favor of peace to react to this situation, stating that the captured Chinese citizens are under the supervision of the Ukrainian Security Service.
