Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that U.S. and Ukrainian delegations will meet in Saudi Arabia on March 24 to discuss ending the Russia-Ukraine War. Zelensky also stated that they are seeking international support and security guarantees for a permanent resolution to the conflict.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that delegations from the US and Ukraine will meet in Saudi Arabia on March 24 to discuss the issues necessary for achieving a ceasefire to end the Russia-Ukraine War.
During his official meetings in Oslo, the capital of Norway, Zelensky held a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. Stating that Russia has launched a war against his country, Zelensky said they are defending Ukraine's independence by fighting.
Zelensky expressed that they continue to work for the US, European countries, and all allies to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, emphasizing that Norway's involvement in this process would be significant.
"WE WANT IT MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE"
The President of Ukraine stated that they are working towards a fair and permanent end to the war, saying, "We want this more than anyone else in the world."
Arguing that pressure on Russia should be increased to force a ceasefire, Zelensky recalled that they have held discussions with the US regarding the implementation of a ceasefire in the air and at sea.
PROVIDED A DATE FOR THE MEETING
Zelensky emphasized during his phone call with US President Donald Trump yesterday that Ukraine accepts the proposal to stop attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure.
Zelensky stated that the delegations from Ukraine and the US should now address the ceasefire issue at a technical level, announcing that representatives from the two countries will meet in Saudi Arabia on March 24.
Zelensky said: "The meeting will be between Ukraine and the US. Then between the US and Russia. Or, as I said, there will be parallel meetings in one country on the same topic."
"THE US DOES NOT SUPPORT UKRAINE IN NATO"
Zelensky pointed out that if Ukraine were actually a NATO member, it would be significant in terms of solving security issues, stating, "We really want this; we believe it will solve many problems. But there is nothing to talk about. The United States, the biggest ally of NATO, does not support Ukraine in NATO."
