Disney's highly anticipated animated sequel Zootropolis 2 achieved great box office success worldwide as soon as it was released. The film opened with a global weekend total of $556 million, effectively marking a new chapter in cinema history. This impressive figure set the record for the highest opening in Disney's 102-year history in the animation category.

Disney's big-budget animated sequel made headlines worldwide with a global opening of $556 million in its first week, breaking records for both the studio and the animation industry. This extraordinary start propelled the film directly into the ranks of "the best opening films of all time."

The film's box office performance recorded the fourth largest global opening, following Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

GLOBAL BOX OFFICE EXPLOSION

The film grossed $400 million in international markets and $156 million in North America, surpassing records for both Disney and the animation industry.

THE REAL SURPRISE: CHINA BOX OFFICE

Zootopia 2 performed exceptionally well, especially in China. Since its release, the film has grossed $272 million, achieving the largest opening of all time for a foreign animated film in the country. It also became the second largest opening for a foreign film in China after Avengers: Endgame.

The first film's popularity in China and the opening of the "Zootopia Land" section at Shanghai Disneyland further boosted the sequel's appeal. Zootopia 2 surpassed the total box office of the first film in China in just five days.

Following China, the film grossed $14.6 million in France, $13.7 million in South Korea, $10.4 million in Mexico, and $8.8 million in Germany.

RABBIT AND FOX PARTNERSHIP

Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, the film reunites rabbit police officer Judy Hopps and her fox partner Nick Wilde in a new adventure. This time, the duo is tracking down a mysterious reptile that has moved to the city.

The voice cast also includes Ke Huy Quan, who won an Oscar for Everything Everywhere All at Once. The initial reviews from critics are quite positive, and the film is expected to remain strong at the box office throughout the year.
