A 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Simav district of Kütahya at midnight. The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 12.1 kilometers, caused great panic in Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, and Balıkesir as well.

Kütahya Governor Musa Işın stated in a post on the social media platform of American company X, "At 02:54 today, an earthquake measuring 4.9 occurred with its epicenter in our Simav district, Maden village. In our field inspection, we have not encountered any negative incidents so far. I wish our citizens well. May God protect our country."
