The investigation into the murder of lawyer Serdar Öktem, one of the suspects in the case of Sinan Ateş, who lost his life in a gun attack while in his vehicle in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, continues on its third day. The interrogations of 13 suspects detained in connection with the murder are ongoing at the police station.

THE NUMBER TWO OF THE 'DALTONS' INSTIGATOR During the interrogation of the suspects, it was revealed that the instigator of the murder is the number two of the "Daltons" criminal organization. It was determined that the instigator, who is believed to be abroad, was captured in Russia and then lost track. The police have initiated the necessary procedures to issue a wanted bulletin through Interpol.
PULLED HIS GUN BUT COULDN'T FIRE On the day of the murder, it was determined that Serdar Öktem was on his way to a meeting on the Asian side of Istanbul and was carrying a licensed firearm. 13 SUSPECTS IN POLICE CUSTODY In the investigation into the murder, initially, six suspects were captured by the Istanbul Police Department's Intelligence and Organized Crime Units, including five suspects named SÖ., E.P., M.K., C.Ü., and S.A., as well as C.A., who was identified as having helped the suspects escape after the incident. In operations conducted by security forces regarding the murder, seven more suspects named H.Ö., Y.K., M.B., D.Y., E.K., F.E., and S.A.S., who were found to be in contact with the perpetrators, were also detained and interrogated. The police interrogation of a total of 13 suspects, including two under the age of 18, is ongoing.
ALLEGATION OF "CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION CONFRONTATION" While it is assessed that the backdrop of the attack involves a confrontation between two rival organized crime networks, it has been learned that the order for the act was given by a gang leader who is currently a fugitive abroad to a gang member named S.Ö. in Turkey, who also planned the bloody ambush. It has been reported that the murder, which is believed to stem from a confrontation between mafia-type structures, involved S.Ö., who was detained in the first raid last night and played a role in every step from planning the attack to the execution.
According to the information received, the murder order was given by gang leaders who are in hiding abroad. This order was communicated to S.Ö., a gang member in Istanbul. It was determined that S.Ö. first conveyed the attack plan to a team that prepared the action proposal as an "organizer," and then relayed it to the individuals who would actually carry out the attack. The suspect was found to have played an active role throughout the entire process until the action plan was completed.
In the ongoing multifaceted investigation into the Öktem murder, the Istanbul Police Department's Intelligence Unit teams identified that one of the perpetrators in the attack cell made a purchase from a local business before the act. Following this detail, the police teams tracked down the identities of the other suspects involved in the attack. Acting swiftly, the police and gendarmerie coordinated to capture the driver of the vehicle used for escape along with the five individuals who carried out the attack in Arnavutköy.
As part of the investigation, a total of 13 suspects, including a lookout who conducted reconnaissance before the attack and relayed all movements of lawyer Serdar Öktem in his office to the shooters, were detained.
HAD SERVED AS A LAWYER FOR THE LEADER OF THE "SHIRINLER" CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION On the other hand, it has been claimed that lawyer Serdar Öktem, who lost his life in the attack, had previously served as the lawyer for S.Ş., known by the nickname "Max" and the leader of the criminal organization referred to as the Shirinler, and was later said to have close ties with a group called the "Casperler." It is believed that Serdar Öktem became a victim of the conflict of interest between two separate criminal networks.
FAREWELL TO HIS LAST JOURNEY A funeral ceremony was held for lawyer Serdar Öktem yesterday (October 8) at the Ömer Duruk Mosque in Ataköy, Bakırköy. Öktem's relatives and loved ones attended the ceremony. After the funeral prayer performed following the noon prayer, permission was sought for Öktem. His body was then taken to Kocasinan Cemetery for burial.
