A 35-year-old worker, who was trapped in the elevator shaft after the fall of an elevator being maintained in a luxury site in the Çekmeköy district of Istanbul, lost his life despite all the interventions of the fire department teams.

Fuat Yağcı (35), who was trapped between two elevator cabins due to the fall of an elevator being maintained in a site in Çekmeköy, lost his life.

THE ELEVATOR FELL DURING MAINTENANCE

The incident occurred around 12:45 in a site located on Şehit Kubilay Street in the Taşdelen neighborhood of Çekmeköy district. According to reports, a maintenance team was called to the site after one of the building's elevators malfunctioned. One of the elevators fell while repairs were being made.

DIED BETWEEN TWO ELEVATORS

35-year-old elevator maintenance worker Fuat Yağcı was trapped between the two elevators due to the sudden movement of the cabins. Upon notification, fire brigade, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Yağcı was rescued from the place he was trapped by the fire brigade teams. An examination at the scene determined that Yağcı had lost his life.

Yağcı's body was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution after the examinations at the scene. Police teams have initiated an investigation regarding the incident.
