DEM Party members of parliament initiated a "hair braiding" action to protest the cutting of the hair of a woman who is a member of the terrorist organization YPG in Syria. DEM Party member of parliament and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Pervin Buldan also participated in the hair braiding action initiated by women and shared a video of herself braiding her hair.
NURSE PARTICIPATING IN THE MOVEMENT DETAINED
One of the supporters of the rapidly spreading movement on social media was a nurse working in Kocaeli. The nurse, who shared a video of herself braiding her hair in the hospital, was detained late last night.
The Kocaeli Provincial Health Directorate stated in a statement regarding the matter that the nurse acted contrary to the "Civil Servants Law" and the "Ethical Principles of Public Officials" and reported that necessary legal and administrative investigations had been initiated against her. It was learned that nurse İ.A. was detained at her brother's house in Istanbul and was taken to the Kocaeli Police Department for processing.
