Two suspects, who are alleged to have conducted physical surveillance on Palestinian activists in Turkey and transferred the information they gathered to the Israeli Intelligence Service Mossad for money, were arrested by the duty magistrate they were brought before.
The investigation into the suspects Serkan Çiçek and Tuğrulhan Dip, who are accused of conducting physical surveillance on Palestinian activists in Turkey and relaying information about individuals targeted by Mossad to the agency, is ongoing.
DECISION MADE FOR 2 PERSONS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
After completing their procedures at the police station, the two suspects taken into custody as part of the investigation were transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse located in Çağlayan. Here, the suspects Çiçek and Dip gave statements to the prosecutor and were subsequently arrested by the duty magistrate for the crime of 'obtaining information that must be kept secret by the state for political or military espionage purposes.'
SENT IMAGES TO MOSSAD AND RECEIVED CRYPTOCURRENCY
On the other hand, the details of the investigation emerged in the prosecutor's transfer document. The document stated that suspect Serkan Çiçek conducted reconnaissance at a site named Metrokent in Başakşehir, where predominantly foreign nationals reside, and that the site had previously been monitored in many investigations. It was reported that the suspect shared the photos and videos he took with a person identified by the code name 'Faysal Al-Rashid,' who was found to be working for Mossad, through a messaging application, and negotiated with this person regarding physical surveillance, photos, and videos, receiving cryptocurrency in return.
NOTABLE DETAILS
The document indicated that the suspect was looking for a rental house within the site to be able to follow the desired person, and that he claimed to have his own team for the necessary surveillance photo and video operations, stating that he could easily access information related to the person, could check phone records if necessary, and could obtain situations like criminal records. It was also noted that suspect Çiçek had two separate warrants for 'fraud' and 'forgery in official documents,' and although he claimed that he did not take any action after receiving the agreed amount of 4,000 dollars, it was recorded that he persistently asked the person if there was any new job and that he was found to be in search.
WORKED TOGETHER TO OBTAIN HOTEL AND HTS RECORDS
It was stated in the transfer document that suspect Dip had enough time to destroy potential evidence that could be found in his digital materials until the time of his capture, and it was mentioned that there was a recorded conversation between him and suspect Çiçek.
The document stated that in a part of the statement taken from suspect Çiçek as part of the investigation, he gave a statement about Tuğrulhan Dip, mentioning that they met a person named Musa Kuş, who worked as a secretary for Tuğrulhan Dip in a law office, and that they could provide all the information needed by detectives. He also stated that Musa Kuş provided information to Tuğrulhan Dip regarding the detective work he had undertaken, and that they jointly decided on what kind of operations would be carried out regarding these jobs, including querying hotel records and obtaining HTS records.
THERE ARE NUMEROUS INVESTIGATION RECORDS
The transfer document also noted that the person named Musa Kuş mentioned in the statement had numerous investigation and prosecution records for the charges of establishing and managing a criminal organization and military political espionage, and that he had been sentenced for military and political espionage. It was stated that in the investigations mentioned, a significant amount of financial transactions between Musa Kuş and suspect Tuğrulhan Dip had been detected, indicating that the suspect was particularly in an organizing position regarding the crime of military and political espionage.
