According to the information obtained, on August 9, 2025, in the Karatepe neighborhood of Vakfıkebir, Mustafa Sağlam (38) stabbed his wife, Tuğba Sağlam, in the bathroom.

After stabbing his wife, Mustafa Sağlam opened fire with an automatic shotgun he had with him, injuring her before fleeing to the forested area with the shotgun. Upon receiving the alert, health teams who arrived at the scene determined that Tuğba Sağlam had lost her life.

HIS BODY WAS FOUND MUTILATED BY WILD ANIMALS

After the incident, gendarmerie teams launched a large-scale operation to capture Mustafa Sağlam, with many JASAT and Gendarmerie Special Operations Teams participating in the operation. Despite two months of efforts, Sağlam could not be reached, and finally, a male body was found in the forested area of Karatepe, mutilated by wild animals.

The body was sent to the Trabzon Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy, and it was determined during the autopsy that the body belonged to Mustafa Sağlam. There is a suspicion that Sağlam may have committed suicide and that his body was subsequently mutilated by wild animals in the area.
