As Google services became non-functional in Turkey and nine other countries, a significant chaos ensued due to the system's failure. The outage that rendered YouTube, Spotify, and the Google search engine non-operational lasted for more than 30 minutes. Access to the Google services, which crashed on its 27th anniversary, has now resumed, albeit at a low speed.

On September 4, 1998, Google became inaccessible on its birthday. Although searches were made on Google, no results were returned. Google's services were unavailable for about half an hour. No explanation was provided by Google, but it was noted on social media that access to Google was not possible.
ACCESS RESUMED, EVEN IF AT A LOW SPEED
Access to YouTube, owned by Google, was also unavailable. It was impossible to log into Gmail. Access to Spotify's desktop website was also not possible, and although the selected songs seemed to play through the mobile application, there was no sound. Access to Google services resumed, albeit at a low speed.
TECHNICAL REPORT REQUESTED
Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan stated, "Google is experiencing outages affecting Turkey and the European region in its Android and related services." Kaya said, "Our National Cyber Incident Response Center has requested a technical report from Google regarding the cause of the outage. We are closely monitoring the process. These outages highlight the importance of domestic and national products and software. For this reason, we have worked hard to increase the local content rate in both the software and hardware aspects of 5G. We will further increase our current local content rate of 60%."
WHICH COUNTRIES EXPERIENCED OUTAGES?
Access to Google was halted across Turkey and Eastern Europe. The countries experiencing access issues are:
- Turkey
- Bulgaria
- Greece
- Georgia
- Croatia
- Serbia
- Romania
- Armenia
- Netherlands
- Germany
TODAY IS GOOGLE'S ANNIVERSARY
Another noteworthy detail is that this outage coincided with Google's anniversary. As the company, founded on September 4, 1998, was preparing to celebrate its 27th year, such a significant access issue caused even greater reactions among users.
