Police were alerted due to the foul odors coming from the home of an 81-year-old couple living in Konya. Upon entering the house, the teams found Aynur Özkağnıcı, who is bedridden, unconscious, and discovered the body of her husband, Hasan Tahsin Özkağnıcı. It was learned that Aynur Özkağnıcı had lived with her husband's body for approximately a week and had crawled to the door to call for help.
After neighbors were unable to get news from the couple in Konya, the police entered the house due to the bad smells coming from it and found Aynur Özkağnıcı (81) unconscious at the entrance of the room, while her husband Hasan Tahsin Özkağnıcı (81) was found dead on the couch. It was learned that bedridden Aynur Özkağnıcı had been in the same room with her husband's corpse for about a week and had crawled to the door to ask for help.

The incident occurred around 5:00 PM in an apartment on the 4th floor of Serkan Street in the central Karatay district. Neighbors who had not heard from the Özkağnıcı couple and smelled the bad odors coming from the apartment reported the situation to the police. Police teams, with the help of the fire department, opened the door to the apartment and entered. The police found bedridden Aynur Özkağnıcı unconscious on the floor at the entrance of a room. In the same room, they encountered the body of her husband Hasan Tahsin Özkağnıcı on the couch.
BEDRIDDEN WOMAN LIVED WITH HER HUSBAND'S CORPSE FOR 1 WEEK
Health officials who arrived at the scene upon notification took the critically ill Aynur Özkağnıcı to Konya City Hospital by ambulance. Police teams are evaluating that Aynur Özkağnıcı had been in the same room with her husband Hasan Tahsin's corpse, who passed away about a week ago, crawled to the entrance of the door to ask for help, and lost her strength, leading to her unconscious state.
Hasan Tahsin Özkağnıcı, who had heart and kidney problems and passed away, was taken to the Konya Forensic Medicine Institution by funeral vehicle for autopsy. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
