In Antalya, an employee of the Manavgat Municipality's cleaning services killed the truck driver he was collecting trash with by stabbing him in the throat during an argument. A witness stated, "While getting out of the vehicle to collect trash, I heard sounds coming from the truck. When I looked, I saw that they were struggling in the cabin of the truck." It was learned that the parties had also had an argument two days prior.

In Antalya, Manavgat Municipality cleaning workers Gökhan M. (41) and Nurullah G. set off in the morning hours with the garbage collection vehicle driven by Mehmet Özkaynak (46) towards rural neighborhoods.

STABBED HIS COLLEAGUE IN THE NECK AND FLED

As the vehicle was progressing towards Hacıisali Neighborhood, a dispute broke out between driver Mehmet Özkaynak and Gökhan M. for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated, Gökhan M. stabbed Mehmet Özkaynak in the neck and fled.

Meanwhile, upon the notification of Nurullah G., who was trying to load the garbage by the roadside, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that Özkaynak had lost his life during their examination. After the investigation, Özkaynak's body was sent to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institution.

In his statement, Nurullah G. indicated that he had moved away from the vehicle to collect garbage on the road between Sülek and Hacıisali neighborhoods, saying, "As I got out of the vehicle and headed to collect garbage, I heard noises from the truck. I came back to see what was happening. Mehmet Özkaynak and Gökhan M. were struggling in the cabin of the truck. When I opened the door, I saw the driver Mehmet Özkaynak lying on the seat. At that moment, Gökhan M. had fled," he said.

THEY HAD A DISPUTE 2 DAYS AGO

On the other hand, it was learned that a dispute occurred between Mehmet Özkaynak and Gökhan M. 2 days ago. Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, gendarmerie teams started working to capture the fleeing Gökhan M.

THEY HAD RECORDED A VIDEO TOGETHER SHORTLY BEFORE THE MURDER

Moreover, it was learned that Mehmet Özkaynak and Gökhan M. had argued for an unknown reason the day before, and the murder suspect Gökhan M., along with witness Nurullah G. and the deceased Mehmet Özkaynak, had recorded and shared a video together.
