The Ministry of Trade has decided to withdraw from the market and ban the sale of the popular cactus toy on social media due to its "risk of choking" in safety tests. Inspections revealed that the thickness of the product's packaging was below the standards.
The Ministry of Trade has decided to recall another product as a result of comprehensive inspections conducted in the markets. The popular cactus toy, frequently shared on social media and popular among children, has been banned for not meeting safety standards.
INSPECTIONS CONTINUE IN ALL SECTORS
Ministry teams continue to examine a wide range of products, from major brands to small businesses. Inspections have scrutinized many categories, including room fragrances, stationery, clothing, and technological products. Products that are contrary to regulations or pose risks to user safety are being disclosed to the public.
PACKAGING THICKNESS FOUND INSUFFICIENT
According to the inspection report, the cactus toy belonging to the company "Enis Çelebi Ennes New Generation Technology" received a "F: Remains" result in the "Toy Safety - Part 1: Physical and Mechanical Properties" test. It was determined that the packaging thickness of the product was measured at 0.024 mm, compared to the 0.038 mm standard specified in the legislation.
RECALLED DUE TO "DROWNING RISK"
The Ministry stated in its assessment that the toy poses a drowning risk, leading to the decision to recall the product from the market and ban its supply. The Ministry of Trade has called on consumers to be cautious about child safety, stating that inspections will continue uninterrupted.
