The U.S. Embassy in Ankara announced that individuals applying for a visa must make their social media accounts public to "everyone."
The U.S. Embassy in Ankara announced the new regulations to be applied in visa application processes through a statement on its social media account.
"SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS MUST BE 'PUBLIC' FOR EVERYONE"
In the embassy's statement, it was mentioned that "starting from December 15, 2025, in accordance with U.S. laws, all visa applicants must change the privacy settings of all their social media accounts to public in order to facilitate the review process that will allow for the identification and eligibility verification for entry into the United States for non-immigrant visa categories F, M, and J, as well as for H-1B or H-4 visa applications."
