Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that an organized crime group involved in fraudulent real estate sales for foreigners to acquire Turkish citizenship has been dismantled. Yerlikaya reported that as a result of the operations, 106 suspects were apprehended.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS IN 19 PROVINCES
In operations conducted in 19 provinces centered in Istanbul, large-scale raids were carried out targeting crimes such as establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, being a member of an organization, human trafficking, laundering assets obtained from crime, qualified fraud, and forgery of official documents.
During the operations, 106 suspects were captured, including the leader of the organization, M.A.
FAKE CITIZENSHIP FOR 451 FOREIGNERS
Yerlikaya stated that it was determined that the suspects had engaged in fraudulent real estate sales to enable 451 foreigners and their families to acquire Turkish citizenship. In this context, he noted that procedures for the cancellation of the citizenship of these individuals have been initiated immediately.
ASSETS SEIZED
Minister Yerlikaya announced that assets belonging to the criminal organization have also been seized. Accordingly:
- A group of holding companies,
- 5 joint-stock companies,
- 1,240 apartment units,
- 47 cars,
- 65 plots of land,
- and bank accounts have been frozen.
Yerlikaya emphasized in a social media post that the operations are being carried out with determination, stating, "We will not allow organized crime groups to operate freely."
