The leader of the country with a Muslim population of 240 million, Subianto, called on the international community to take action against the events happening in Gaza, stating, "Today, a catastrophic situation is still unfolding before our eyes in Gaza, innocent people are crying out for help. They are crying to be saved. Who will save them? Who will save the innocent people? Who will save the elderly and women? While we sit here, millions of people are currently facing danger. They are experiencing trauma. They are suffering irreparable harm to their bodies. They are dying of hunger. Can we remain silent? Will their cries go unanswered? Will we teach them that the family of humanity can overcome this hardship?"
