Albanian Prime Minister Rama's emphasis on 'Turkey' during his speech in the Israeli parliament drew attention. In his speech, Rama stated, "By the way, let's also include Turkey here. We aim to deepen these relations and we are determined to be part of the international stability force that will be established in Gaza in the future, alongside our Arab, Turkish, and other brothers."
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed the Israeli parliament during his visit to Israel. At the beginning of his speech, Rama quoted the historic speech made by former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat in the Knesset in 1977, delivering the message of "peace for all of us in both Arab lands and Israel."
IRAN AND THE 'KHOMEINISM' OUTBURST
Recalling that Albania protected Jews during World War II, Rama stated that Muslim and Christian Albanians risked their lives to protect their Jewish neighbors. He noted that his country is still providing protection to thousands of Iranian citizens, who are in great danger because they oppose the Tehran regime.
Rama stated that during this process, Albania was subjected to a major cyber attack from Iran, yet they did not back down and gave the Iranian Embassy staff 24 hours to leave the country. Criticizing the Iranian regime harshly, Rama said, "We also severed that thin connection with the Khomeinist Republic. I will never say 'Islamic Republic.' Because Islam is love and humility, while Khomeinism is hatred and death."
THE TURKEY OUTBURST DREW ATTENTION
In his evaluations regarding the Gaza Strip, Rama stated that Albania has close relations with Israel, Arab countries, and Turkey, expressing their desire to deepen these relations. Rama said, "By the way, let's add Turkey here as well. We aim to deepen these relations and we are determined to be part of the international stability force that will be established in Gaza in the future, alongside our Arab, Turkish, and other brothers."
THE SPEECH WAS PARTIALLY BOYCOTTED
Rama's statements blaming Hamas for the tragedy in Gaza and describing the criticism of Israel as a mistake led to a reaction from Arab members of the Israeli Parliament. Arab lawmakers boycotted the speech. Rama concluded his speech by quoting former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's call for peace to Israelis and Palestinians, saying, "Give peace a chance."
