A dispute that started in an online game in Adana resulted in a high school student being forcibly taken into a car and beaten in an empty area. The suspects, who recorded the incident with a mobile phone camera, were caught and arrested.
The incident began between high school student R.G. (17), living in the Gülpınar neighborhood of Seyhan district, and M.T.A. (19), whom he met online through a game. Allegedly, after an argument during the game, M.T.A., who got angry over the insults exchanged, later called R.G. to meet under the pretext of having a meal.
THEY KIDNAPPED THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT FROM THE SHOPPING MALL
On December 29, R.G. went to the shopping mall on Dr. Ali Menteşoğlu Street in the Kuruköprü neighborhood of Seyhan district, where he encountered M.T.A. and H.A.D. (17), who was with him. As the argument escalated, R.G. was forcibly made to get into a taxi driven by Y.A. (22) and taken away from the area.
THEY BEAT HIM AND RECORDED IT
The suspects took R.G. to an empty plot of land. There, H.A.D., who was in the back seat, assaulted R.G. with slaps and punches, while M.T.A. in the front seat recorded the events with a mobile phone camera. The footage included moments of R.G. crying and apologizing.
THEIR REMORSE WAS IN VAIN: THEY WERE ARRESTED
After being assaulted, R.G. was allowed to get out of the vehicle, ran away from the area, and informed his family about the situation. Acting upon the complaint, the Seyhan District Police Department teams identified the suspects and conducted operations at their addresses. The three suspects, who were detained, expressed their remorse in their statements at the police station. After their procedures, the three suspects were sent to court and were arrested by the judge.
