In the Kozluk district of Batman, Mehmet Salim Işık, the brother of Mayor Mehmet Veysi Işık, was found shot at his home. Işık died in the hospital to which he was taken. It is claimed that he accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun, and an investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
A suspicious death occurred around 6:30 PM in a two-story house located in the Sağlık neighborhood of Kozluk district in Batman. Upon receiving reports from neighbors who heard gunshots coming from the apartment on the ground floor of the house, health and police teams were dispatched to the address.
THE MAYOR'S BROTHER FOUND SHOT IN HIS HOME
Upon entering the house, the teams found Mehmet Salim Işık (66), the brother of Kozluk Mayor Mehmet Veysi Işık, severely injured from a gunshot wound. Işık was taken to Kozluk State Hospital after the first intervention. Despite the efforts made, Işık could not be saved.
CLAIM THAT HE "SHOT HIMSELF WHILE CLEANING THE PISTOL"
While the body was taken to the morgue of Batman Training and Research Hospital for autopsy, it was claimed that Işık accidentally shot himself while cleaning his pistol. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
