In the inspections conducted throughout 2025, it was found that 37 companies were caught multiple times with fraudulent products in the "counterfeit and adulteration" lists published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. While the frauds in olive oil, honey, and dairy products drew attention, some companies appeared on the list more than 10 times.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has published lists of "Imitation and Adulteration," in which some companies have appeared multiple times within the same year. Inappropriate practices have been detected in many food products, from olive oil to honey, dairy products to meat.
RED ALERT FOR CONSUMERS
Food safety has become a priority issue for every consumer, and in recent years, news about "adulteration" has frequently appeared in the public agenda. The lists of "Foods Subject to Imitation and Adulteration" and "Foods That Will Endanger Health" published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on the website "güvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr" clearly reveal which products have been tampered with.
The Ministry announces to the public the brands it has identified as engaging in imitation, adulteration, and health-threatening practices during inspections conducted nationwide.
37 COMPANIES REPEATEDLY ENTERED THE LIST
According to the lists regularly shared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, since the beginning of 2025, 37 companies have appeared on the lists at least twice due to adulteration. Inspections have particularly revealed serious irregularities in olive oil, honey, dairy, and meat products.
COMPANIES CAUGHT MULTIPLE TIMES
According to a report by T24, some companies that appeared on the lists multiple times within the same year due to "fraudulent products" drew attention:
Appeared on the lists in May with 19 different brands and products.
- Ertürk Meat and Meat Products Food and Food Additives Industry Trade Ltd. Co.
Entered the lists 17 times due to "detection of mechanically separated poultry meat."
Entered the lists a total of 14 times in June, July, and September.
- Sonkoz Oil Food Construction Petroleum Industry and Trade Ltd. Co.
Appeared on the list 11 times from April to October due to mixing different seed oils with extra virgin olive oil.
- Saf Naturel Honey Food Marketing Industry and Trade Ltd. Co.
The company, which was found to have adulteration in honey and molasses products, entered the lists 6 times.
- Özdeğirmenciler Food Agriculture Industry and Trade Ltd. Co.
Appeared on the list 5 times due to mixing seed oils.
- Hilal Animal Products Feed Milk and Dairy Products Wholesale Trade Ltd. Co.
Entered the list 4 times in different months due to mixing seed oil in olive oil.
WARNING FOR CONSUMERS
Experts emphasize that consumers should make it a habit to read labels and prefer reliable producers and brands, especially when purchasing olive oil, honey, and dairy products.
The Ministry states that inspections are ongoing and aims to provide deterrence through administrative sanctions and public disclosure against companies that engage in adulteration.
