Minister Uraloğlu stated that approximately 81.4% of total mobile subscribers are individual, while 18.6% are corporate subscribers, and said, "Turkey became the country with the highest number of calls made via mobile phones compared to European countries, with an average monthly mobile usage time of 493 minutes in the second quarter of 2025."
155 THOUSAND YEARS OF PHONE CALLS MADE IN 3 MONTHS
Uraloğlu noted that a total of 81.8 billion minutes of conversation was conducted from mobile and fixed lines, stating, "This duration corresponds to 155 thousand years if spoken continuously."
As of the end of June, Uraloğlu reported that the number of operators operating in the electronic communication sector is 405, and "The number of authorizations granted to these operators is 751. These operators are ranked in terms of the number of authorizations as 'Internet Service Provider', 'Infrastructure Operator Service', and 'Fixed Telephone Service'," he stated.
Emphasizing that the number of fixed telephone subscribers in the second quarter of 2025 is 8.8 million, while the number of mobile subscribers is approximately 96.5 million, Uraloğlu also noted that compared to the previous three-month period, the amount of mobile traffic increased by 8.8%, and the amount of fixed traffic increased by 5.8%, stating, "A large portion of the traffic, 95.8%, was generated by mobile-to-mobile traffic."
"WE HAVE REACHED 97 MILLION BROADBAND INTERNET SUBSCRIBERS"
Uraloğlu stated that the number of broadband internet subscribers is 20.7 million fixed subscribers and 76.6 million mobile subscribers, saying, "We have reached a total of 97.4 million broadband internet subscribers. The number of internet subscribers increased by 1.9% compared to the same period last year, with the highest increase occurring in the 'Wireless Internet (Fixed)' subscriber count at a rate of 36.6%, followed by a 24% increase in the 'Fiber to the Home' subscriber count. In terms of fiber infrastructure, the fiber length, which was approximately 577 thousand kilometers in the same period last year, reached approximately 637 thousand kilometers in the second quarter of 2025, marking an increase of 10.6%."
