Since last year, 11 cases of hypertrichosis, also known as "werewolf syndrome," have been detected in babies in Spain. In all of the cases, it was found that the parents were using minoxidil-based sprays to prevent hair loss.
According to the report from the Navarra Pharmacovigilance Center in Spain, 11 cases of hypertrichosis, known as "werewolf syndrome," have been recorded across Spain since 2023. Investigations revealed that the parents of the infants used an over-the-counter spray containing 5% topical minoxidil to prevent hair loss.
