21 suspects were detained at Istanbul Airport for disturbing passengers and engaging in touting to gain illicit profits; 12 of them were arrested, and 9 were released under judicial supervision.

MAJOR OPERATION AT ISTANBUL AIRPORT

Procedures at the police department have been completed for 21 suspects detained by teams from the Istanbul Airport Branch of the Istanbul Police Department, under the coordination of the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, on grounds that they harassed local and foreign passengers under the guise of offering transportation services, obtained unjust gains, and caused unfair competition among companies.

12 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Of the suspects referred to the courthouse, 12 were arrested, and a judicial control measure of "not entering Istanbul Airport Terminal and its annexes" was imposed on 9 others.

Police teams had detained 21 suspects identified as involved in touting during an operation on June 16, and confiscated an unlicensed pistol, 50 rounds of ammunition, and 21 mobile phones during searches.
