A female teacher who is on trial for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old female student in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli is facing a request for up to 21 years in prison.

In Kocaeli, a complaint was filed by the school administration regarding the allegation that B.Ş. (17), who was 14 years old at the time of the incident and studying at Gölcük Girls' Imam Hatip High School in 2024, was subjected to a series of sexual assaults by her female music teacher A.G. An investigation was launched by the Gölcük Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The teacher A.G., whose statement was taken, was released under judicial control by the court she was brought before.

"DIVORCE, I WANT TO LIVE WITH YOU"

The fourth hearing of the case related to the incident continued at the Kocaeli 4th Heavy Penal Court. The defendant A.G., who was not in custody, attended the hearing along with the victim girl's parents and the lawyers of both parties. The defendant A.G., who did not accept the accusations, defended herself by saying, "What has been said is completely fabricated. B.Ş. was a very emotional child. She would hug me every time she saw me; I saw this situation as a teacher-student relationship. After a while, B.Ş. started saying things like, 'I like your body. Divorce, I want to live with you.' My only mistake was not telling this situation to the guidance counselor. I do not accept the accusations."

REQUEST FOR UP TO 21 YEARS IN PRISON

The public prosecutor, who presented his opinion on the merits of the case, stated that in light of all the evidence in the file, the defendant teacher touched the victim's sexual areas in a series of sexual impulses at school and at home, caressed her, and kissed her on the lips, and also followed and harassed the victim.

The prosecutor requested that the defendant be sentenced to a total of up to 21 years in prison, with 10 to 18 years for the crime of 'serial sexual abuse of a child' and 6 months to 3 years for the crime of 'sexual harassment.'

The court panel adjourned the hearing, giving the lawyers of the parties time to prepare their defenses against the opinion.
