U.S. President Donald Trump warned that it would not be safe for the Iranian National Football Team to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. In his statement, Trump said, "The Iranian National Football Team will be welcomed at the World Cup, but I do not think it is appropriate for them to be there (in the U.S.) for their own safety and security."
