Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghai condemned the attack by the US last night near the Shahid Baghai Hospital, a children's cancer treatment center in Ahvaz, describing it as a "war crime." Baghai stated that 211 patients receiving cancer treatment at the hospital were urgently evacuated due to the attack, and said, "This constitutes a heinous war crime against the most innocent of humanity."
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghai made statements regarding the US attack near the Shahid Baghai Hospital, a children's cancer treatment center in the city of Ahvaz, during the night hours.
211 CHILDREN EVACUATED
Baghai stated that the hospital was evacuated and noted that the attack recalled Israel's 'brutality' targeting health facilities. He reported that 211 patients receiving cancer treatment at the hospital were urgently evacuated due to the attack, adding, 'This constitutes a heinous war crime against the most innocent beings (children bravely fighting for their lives).'
ALSO ADDRESSED THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
Also addressing the international community, Baghai stated: 'Those who constantly preach about human rights but deliberately ignore attacks on hospitals and health centers have lost all their moral credibility.'
Meanwhile, in a statement from Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, it was indicated that the hospital was evacuated after the attack for the safety of patients and staff, but as some patients returned this morning, the hospital resumed its services and continued to accept patients.
