A gang that lured citizens with an advertisement on social media saying "Do you want to earn 90,000 TL weekly?" in Adana has been dismantled. Eight suspects, including the 24-year-old gang leader, were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
A 28-year-old unemployed individual named E.A., residing in Kahramanmaraş, was invited to Adana by people he contacted after being deceived by an advertisement on social media that read, "Do you want to earn 90,000 TL weekly?"
THEY BROUGHT HIM FROM KAHRAMANMARAŞ TO ADANA BY TAXI
After stating that he did not have a vehicle, the individuals picked up E.A. from his home in Kahramanmaraş by taxi and took him first to an office in Adana and then to a house in the Gürselpaşa neighborhood of the Seyhan district.
THEY MADE HIM GET A NEW PHONE LINE AND OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT
After discussions held there, E.A. was convinced to start living in the house, and the suspects asked him to get a new phone line and open a bank account, giving them control over it. Initially agreeing to the suspects' requests, E.A. later became suspicious of the people coming and going from the house and wanted to leave.
THE SUSPECTS CAUGHT HIM WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING AND HE RAN TO THE POLICE STATION
Blocked by the suspects, the young man took advantage of the opportunity when the suspects were sleeping a few days ago, escaped from the house, and went to the Mustafa Sarı Police Station to file a complaint. After the police station's team informed the Seyhan District Police Department's Investigation Bureau, the teams conducted an operation at the house in the Gürselpaşa neighborhood.
8 SUSPECTS, INCLUDING A 24-YEAR-OLD GANG LEADER, WERE ARRESTED
During the search of the house, 2 unlicensed firearms, 1 ballistic vest, 2 laptops, and numerous mobile phones were seized, while Y.G. (41), F.B. (32), A.E. (28), H.A. (29), S.I. (23), S.O. (25), and M.A. (29) found in the house were taken into custody.
D.K. (24), identified as the leader of the gang and wanted in 25 different cases, was caught at a different address. It was learned that none of the suspects in custody accepted the charges. The 8 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were arrested by the duty magistrate they were brought before.
