3 Yemeni Officers Killed In Rebel Attack In Yemen

Houthi missile attack targets ceremony marking 59th anniversary of 1962 revolution in Hajjah province.

Three security officers were among a dozen people killed in a rebel missile attack that targeted a ceremony in the northwestern Hajjah province, the Yemeni government said on Monday.
A statement by the Interior Ministry said the attack targeted a ceremony marking the 59th anniversary of the revolution of Sept. 26 1962 in the city of Midi on Sunday.
Twelve people were killed and 22 others injured in the attack.
There was no comment from the Houthi rebel group on the attack.
Yemen has been beset by violence and chaos since 2014, when Houthis overran much of the country, including the capital, Sanaa. The crisis in Yemen escalated in 2015 when a Saudi-led coalition launched a devastating air campaign aimed at rolling back Houthi territorial gains.
The conflict has claimed more than 233,000 lives, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
