28 PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE MAYOR, HAVE BEEN DETAINED As part of the investigation, a detention order was issued for a total of 34 people, including Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara, and 28 suspects were detained. Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara was detained at the municipality's auxiliary service building in Side. It was also noted that Z.S., the hotel owner, was made to pay the municipality's debt of 6 million 600 thousand TL to a local television channel for hotel license transactions, and a bribe of 500,000 euros was received in exchange for irregular permits and occupancy for a shopping center. Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara was reported to have purchased his villa in Side Kemer Neighborhood for 750,000 euros, with the payment covered by hotel investors, and that his villa in Kumköy was demolished and renovated free of charge, with costs demanded from hotel owners.

The aim is to determine the public damage and hold the responsible parties accountable in court," it was stated.
