5th wave in Gülistan Doku investigation: 10 suspects detained

New developments have occurred in the investigation into Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Tunceli on January 5, 2020, and has not been heard from since. In the fifth wave of operations conducted, 10 suspects were detained. Additionally, it was announced that findings have been obtained suggesting that some of Doku's personal belongings may have been placed underwater later to create a scene supporting the possibility of suicide.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made a statement regarding the latest phase of the investigation into Gülistan Doku, who disappeared in Tunceli on January 5, 2020, and from whom no news has been received since.

Gürlek stated that the investigation is being continued in light of current technological possibilities and newly obtained evidence, and announced that 10 suspects were detained in the 5th wave operation carried out today.

DIVER'S LOG AND OFFICIAL RECORDS DO NOT MATCH

One of the most striking details in Minister Gürlek's statement concerned the underwater searches conducted to find Gülistan Doku.

Gürlek announced that a diver's log, which was determined to have been concealed from the judicial authorities, was reached, and stated that the records therein were compared with the official search records.

As a result of the examination, it was determined that the records in the diver's log did not match the official search records.

Another prominent development in the investigation concerned some personal belongings of Gülistan Doku.

Minister Gürlek announced that findings were obtained indicating that some of Doku's personal belongings may have been placed underwater later to create an image supporting the possibility of suicide.

Minister Gürlek reported that the 5th wave operation was carried out within the scope of the investigation and that 10 suspects were detained.
