The official stated that the State Department presented the agreement to Congress as a measure to "support Israel's long-term security by reinforcing critical munitions stocks and air defense capabilities." BIDEN: ISRAEL HAS THE RIGHT TO DETER IRANThe official indicated that the U.S. will continue to support Israel's security, stating, "The President (Joe Biden) has clearly expressed that Israel has the right to defend its citizens in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law, and to deter the aggression of Iran and its proxy organizations. We will continue to provide the necessary capabilities for Israel's defense." THE PACKAGE INCLUDES A LOTThe arms sale, which requires Congressional approval, includes significant defense equipment and ammunition such as drones, 155 mm artillery shells, small bombs, 500-pound warheads, bomb fuses, and other related equipment, including AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM for defense against aerial threats. According to officials, part of the ammunition in this sale is expected to be sourced from the U.S.'s existing stocks, while the remainder is anticipated to be produced and delivered.
