THEIR RELATIONSHIP BROKE DOWN WHEN THE CHILD WAS REVEALED

In the petition, it was stated that Fatma D. frequently sent photos of her newborn child to Hacı Sabancı, and after Sabancı learned that the child was his, their relationship deteriorated. The petition included the following statements: "Fatma D.'s ex-husband filed a lawsuit for denial of paternity, claiming that the child is not his. To prevent further victimization of the child, we request that the paternity of Hacı Sabancı be determined through DNA testing." Additionally, we request that Hacı Sabancı be declared the father and that he be registered in the population records.

WITH A 99.99% PROBABILITY...

The Istanbul Family Court decided to refer Hacı Sabancı to the Forensic Medicine Institution to determine whether he is the father of the child named Uzay. Following this decision, Fatma D. and her 4-year-old son Uzay first came to the Istanbul Justice Palace to complete the necessary referral procedures and then provided DNA samples at the Forensic Medicine Institution. Hacı Sabancı also went to the Forensic Medicine Institution to undergo a DNA test to determine if he is the father of little Uzay. The report stated: "A comparison was made between the DNA profile of Uzay D., the DNA profile of mother Fatma D., and the DNA profile of the alleged father Hacı Sabancı. Based on the results obtained, it was determined that Sabancı could be Uzay D.'s biological father with a probability of 99.99%."

APPEALED THE DECISION

According to a report by Hürriyet, the court ruled that Hacı Sabancı is the biological father of Uzay. However, Sabancı appealed the decision, taking the case to the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeals. The petition submitted for the appeal included the following statements: "The similarities in the DNA profile have not been explained. A 99.99% probability is not sufficient to prove that my client is the father."
