A shocking incident at Amman Valley School in Carmarthenshire has been taken to court, where a 14-year-old female student is accused of stabbing two teachers and a student. In the attack, teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin, along with a student, were injured. Security camera footage shown at Swansea Crown Court revealed the tragic details of the incident. 53-year-old Ms. Hopkin, a special education teacher, was stabbed four times, while Ms. Elias, a drama and Welsh language teacher, was injured in the neck. The footage shows the girl spending time in the school hall before the attack, where she is seen plunging the knife into the ground. The girl then begins to talk to the teachers before suddenly pulling out the knife and launching the attack. After attacking Ms. Elias, she also stabs Ms. Hopkin, who tried to intervene. Following the incident, school staff Steven Hagget and Darrel Campbell attempted to calm the girl, but it was recorded that the girl also injured another student. The attacker, who was eventually subdued by Mr. Campbell, admitted to charges of intent to cause injury and possession of a bladed article on school premises, but denied the charge of attempted murder. Prosecutor William Hughes KC stated that Ms. Hopkin sustained the most serious injuries and was airlifted to Cardiff. Ms. Elias and the injured student were treated at a hospital in Swansea. All three victims were discharged after being in critical condition. The hearing of the defendant, whose name has not been disclosed for legal reasons, will continue on Monday. The incident has raised concerns about school safety and has shocked the community. Authorities are evaluating measures that can be taken to prevent similar incidents.
