A 15-year-old English girl is fighting for her life after being struck by a paragliding enthusiast while having lunch during a family holiday in Turkey. Lily Nichol's mother said that she thought her daughter was dead after the unfortunate accident that led to her being taken to the intensive care unit of Letoon Hospital in Fethiye. While sitting at the table, she was "knocked down" by the paragliding enthusiast. The little girl, who was supposed to return to Newcastle yesterday, is currently receiving treatment in the hospital for various injuries. The little girl has a broken jaw and ribs, bleeding in her brain, and likely a broken back as well. Lyndsey, the mother from Durham, said that her daughter's fainting and falling face-first while eating pizza at the table and having a stroke was her "worst nightmare." However, Lily and her 19-year-old sister Megan did not have travel insurance for their family holiday, and now they are facing a huge hospital bill. The mother of two has started a GoFundMe campaign to be able to pay the £7,000 bill. The campaign raised £5,768 in just 21 hours. In a statement to The Sun, she said: "I thought she was dead, I thought she was dead, I was screaming. I was shouting, 'Where's the ambulance?' and saying, 'Lily, keep talking to us, keep talking to us.'" Lyndsey was very angry when she saw the paragliding enthusiast who hit her youngest daughter joking and drinking with friends afterward. "I think I never want to go on holiday again. I just want to keep her wrapped in cotton wool," she added. In addition to the bill, she also has to pay for hotel expenses to stay with her daughter and taxi fares for trips to and from the hospital.
