Real and legal persons who provide intercity bus transportation will offer a 20% discount on the tariff to those who can prove that they are retired. The decision has come into effect as of today.
After the application of a 15% discount for retirees in social facilities belonging to public institutions and organizations until the end of the year, a new application has started for retirees. With the regulation prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, retirees are provided with a 20% discount opportunity for intercity bus travel.
The "Regulation on Amendment of the Road Transport Regulation" prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
With the regulation, due to the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Retirees" by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, retirees who will travel between cities by bus are provided with the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets with a 20% discount.
In the temporary article published in the Official Gazette, it is stated that "Between the date this paragraph enters into force and the dates 31/12/2024, for Turkish citizens who prove/declare their retirement with information or documents prepared in accordance with the relevant legislation, a 20% discount is applied on passenger tickets issued by B1 or D1 license holders in accordance with the fare tariff reported/transmitted to the Ministry according to the second paragraph of Article 56. License holders who do not comply with this paragraph are given a warning for each violation in the amount specified in the last sentence of the eleventh paragraph of Article 56."
