A body with a surgical mask on its mouth was found in an empty field.

A chilling incident occurred in the Salköprü neighborhood of the Yeşilyurt district in Malatya. Citizens saw someone lying motionless on the ground around 07:00 in the empty lot next to the heavily damaged building on Turgut Temelli Street.

BODY FOUND IN EMPTY LOT

Citizens immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Health teams determined in their initial checks that the individual had passed away. The presence of a surgical mask on the mouth of the corpse drew attention.

IDENTITY NOT YET DETERMINED

The lifeless body of the individual, who had no identification on them, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution after the investigations at the scene were completed.

SUSPICION OF SUICIDE BEING CONSIDERED

Preliminary assessments suggest that the incident is being treated as a suicide, and an investigation has been initiated.
