Chinese academic Prof. Zhang Weiwei harshly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's policies through the lens of the Iran war. Zhang argued that the trade, tariff, and technology wars initiated by Trump in the past have failed, stating that the Iran war would end up in the same way. Zhang also criticized Trump's decisions, saying, "How can a decision-maker of this caliber dare to provoke a fight?"
As the world enters a period where the growing war between the US-Israel and Iran could shake global balances, a striking assessment came from Chinese academic Prof. Zhang Weiwei. One of China's most well-known international relations commentators, Zhang directly targeted US President Donald Trump through the war.
Zhang argued that the global policies pursued by Trump in recent years have failed, particularly recalling the economic moves initiated against China. The trade war between the US and China had also been one of the most controversial policies of the Trump era.
"HE HAS NOT WON A WAR"
Speaking about the Iran war, Zhang Weiwei claimed that the economic and technological struggles initiated by Trump in the past have not yielded results. In his assessment of Trump, Zhang stated: "The trade war has failed. The tariff war has failed. The technology war has failed. This war will also fail."
"HOW DARE HE START A FIGHT?"
The Chinese academic also harshly criticized Trump's decision-making processes. Zhang questioned the US leadership's capacity to manage current crises, stating: "Trump's decisions are consistently very bad. How can a decision-maker of this caliber dare to start a fight?"
Zhang's statements were interpreted as one of the harshest criticisms from China towards US policies during a period of heightened tension among global powers due to the Iran war.
